UFC Heavyweight Champion and UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture held a press conference this afternoon to address his resignation from the UFC. Among the many points discussed by Couture were a $3 million dollar offer he received from BodogFight to face Fedor Emelianenko, his salary and contract structure, who his agents are and what influence they have, and his contact with the UFC.

I hope Randy says everything that is on his mind and tells us everything shady that the UFC does.
I hope Dana owns Randy and makes him finish his fights that he agreed to fight.
I have been trying to watch this at ProElite, but they keep loosing their feed!!!!
Yeah, I see like 1 minute then I lose it.
Did anyone actually see the press conference? I check ESPN all day I didnt hear a word about it. I cant even seem to watch it online? Which is weird because I was able to watch Fedors press conference just by googling it. I registered to watch it on proelite or something like that and basically got scammed.
I watched the first 30 minutes on HDNet and will have a full recap later tonight. It wasn’t anything jaw-dropping.
“…It wasn’t anything jaw-dropping…”
LAME.
Although, I thought I read somewhere that Randy turned down 3 million to fight Fedor in Bodog, when he was retired, right before he went back to the UFC to beat Swamp Thing.
That fight definitely didn’t have the significance then as it does now.
He did say that but the conference on a whole didn’t really answer many questions in my eyes. I will have a full write up of what he said but him turning down Bodog’s one fight to come to the UFC was the biggest news from the event.

I don’t even think it was that big of a deal. Fedor # 1 heavyweight vs. (at the time) A 205 lb Randy Couture who had just got KO’ed twice by Chuck.
People would have called it a joke at the time.
Now, its the biggest fight imaginable, what a difference 7 months make.
It is 5:45 MT right now, and pro elite is re-playing Couture’s press conference
I am starting to think that if the UFC does it right, they can get Randy vs. Fedor. I still have hope. He will calm down. After watching his conference, it DOES seem plausable.

Randy needs grow up. He brags about making movies. Well if it wasn’t for the UFC he wouldn’t even be known as it is!! I am sure Micheal Jordon had to sit and watch rookies come into his sport and get huge bonuses and outrageous salaries. What did Jordan do? Inked a deal with NIKE. The money is in your name RANDY!!! not in fighting with the UFC. Fighting is your bread and butter but you riches are going to be from other projects like acting, shoes, and grills (oh wait that was done) I am sure Tiger gets more from NIKE and BUICK than he gets from golfing. Use your name and who you are as a star to get the big money not as a fighter.
Good call Jeffrey. I just didn’t think that this was something Randy would do. Seems like everything in today’s society is centered around money.
I hope you’re right scotchydow. I would love to see Couture ground and pound Fedor and beat him down.
Sounds like its about the Zero’s, after watching UfC and Dana White Press Conferance, I’m disappointed in Randy. Another high paid pro athlete unhappy. Thats why I stopped watching football and baseball.
randy has been around for a long time. has fought big fights and has put in his time. fedor went to like bo dog or king of the cage, so randy should be allowed to leave. he has been a real bore to watch over the years, but i love it when he wins. heavy weights need a savior. we probably all thought mir cro was the answer and he has been a humilation to the sport since he has been in the ufc. congo we thought might be great and he was beat by fat heath herring. tim silva was in the position to long for some tall retard who had a size advantage and really no skill (watch him fight) right now the only thing fun to watch is middle welter and lightweights. it is good there are those classes or dana ship would be sinking. no one is going to keep paying to watch paper rampage jackson who they will not give a real contender too. he comes in and beats the crap out of chuck and then fights dan who had a good chance of beating him and he is already a coach on the ultimate fighter serious, come on let someone be there that deserves it dana
