    Scotchy,

Is that you who placed on the MMA Playground WEC 31? If so, check out who got third on the wagers. That’s right… Ed Ratcliff took me to the bank!

I’m soooo happy that Pulver f***ed up that little punk Swanson, especially after he’s been talking **** for months. 35 seconds? Come on…at least back up your talk.

The takedown defense into the rolling guillotine was text book. I hope Swanson learned something about respect from this. Jens Pulver is the man at 145. I can’t wait till Faber vs. Pulver, it will be great!

    Faber is a monster

I still love Pulver’s quote “I’m going to old man slap him.” Haha… classic.

Pulver Vs. Faber will be a great fight. Can’t wait!

Jens Pulver is the man. It’s been a while since I’ve marked out like I did when Swanson tapped.

I can only assume that this was a bad fight for Filho. This is the first live fight of his that I’ve seen and he didn’t look too sharp. It was a weird fight with Sonnen saying Filho was out and then the phantom tap-out.

Faber is impressive. I totally believe him when he says he’s making it up as he goes. Pulver/Faber will be great.

Yeah, the surprise of the night for me was how bad Filho looked. I was also completely unimpressed with that Cuban dude. They must have no 205ers in the WEC, because he wasn’t even on Marshal’s level, and Doug’s usually a stand up guy. the Pulver/Faber fight could be a great fight. I don’t know who I’ll pick yet. Either way, that should get record numbers watching for the WEC.

Lealand- Yeah, 9th ain’t bad(not as good as 3rd-Good Job!)
It’s good seeing the old Jen’s. I almost gave up on him. He said he was going to rip Cub’s head off.
Sonnan got SCREWED! I cannot believe how calm he was about it after the fight. He was calmer than Lindland when he lost to Fedor. He delt with it really well, but still got screwed. He better get a rematch- and he better stay out of the guard of Filho in that rematch.
“Big Frog” was definately a game opponent for Fabar. I like Curran, but Fabar is an animal. I bet he was a douchebag in high school(but who wasn’t) Looks like he will have to move up, or talk Tyson Griffin into moving down. I really want to see that match(actually, I’d love to see their first one)

I agree with everything you said scotchydow. Also, the guy I wanted to win last night was Pulver. I love that guy, he has so much heart. Him and Faber will make an interesting and exciting fight.

Please let Filho come to the UFC and be dominated like the b**** that he is. Franklin would knock him out in the 1st let alone Silva. He has proved himself in the WEC….time to make the step up dude.

Was it the current WEC Welterweight champ they interviewed last night? Saying his future was in the WEC and that the WEC was where the best fighters in the world were?

145 Division looked great last night. Pulver and Faber both put on a show. Wish I had a transcript of what Pulver yelled to the punk once he choked him out.

  • scotchydow said:

Yeah, Carlos Condit- he is tough, but a little dillusional thinking the UFC has the best Welterweights in town. I am glad “Rhino” Marshall doesn’t get big headed and start calling “Rampage” or Chuck out.
Yeah, I believe Pulver told Cub “F-You” after he pulled his head off. Then he told 1/4 of the crowd “F-You!” Then he screemed “Anybody else wanna try me….1….more…..TIME?!?!?!?”
Pretty Dramatic-but he did prove his point(that he is a hard MO-FO to take at 145, and he has never lost at that weight)

I feel bad for Sonnen. He might have pulled off the upset, if he lasted just five more seconds. I was not impressed by Filho at all; the guy is ranked in th etop three and had a showing like that. A Guy like Franklin would have eaten him up, if he ever fought Franklin the way he fought Sonnen.
