UFC Signs Heavyweight Prospect Shane Carwin

21 January 2008 8 Comments

The UFC has signed undefeated heavyweight prospect Shane Carwin to a multiple-fight contract reports Five Ounces of Pain.

Carwin (8-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) last fought in December defeating former-UFC fighter Sherman Pendergast via first-round TKO. In fact, Carwin has won all 8 of his professional fights by first-round knockout or submission with just a single fight making it more than two-minutes.

Earlier this year Carwin was rumored to have signed with EliteXC for a showdown with Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva though it appears the UFC, in desperate need of viable heavyweights, signed the undefeated fighter instead.

No date has been announced for his octagon debut.

Former wrestler, 6′4″ and 260 lbs. Don’t know how good his skills are but the division needs some excitement.

Video Highlights of him on You Tube. Big guy, looks juiced up. Kinda resembles Marc Coleman. Seems interesting

Saw some tape on this guy and not impressed, not a great fighter and will probably get his ass handed to him in the UFC.

Saw this guy wrestle in college. His speed and strength are superior. He has no fear because he is always prepared. Could be best submission/ground fighter in the world.

I knew Shane and played ball with him in College.
This guy is extremely tough, extremely quick for his size, and determined. He will train very hard and most likely become one of the top heavywieghts in the world.
