UFC 81: Newcomer Rob Yundt To Fill In For Sick Belcher
By: Kris Karkoski | Jan 30, 2008
The UFC announced earlier today on UFC.com that Alan Belcher has been forced to withdraw from his UFC 81 bout against Ricardo Almeida due to a severe case of bronchitis. Undefeated UFC newcomer Rob Yundt will now take on Almedia this Saturday.
Yundt (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has fought exclusively in the Alaska Fighting Championships promotion, winning all six of his professional fights. In his last fight at AFC 40 in October, Yundt defeated Oscar Granado via technical knockout in just 53-seconds.

i hope they bring up the eastman martin fight 2 main card
I feel the same way eltz…
They won’t. It’s all about Almeida. Then if this new guy knocks him out, it’s to good a story not to promote. Undefeated, last minute replacement,is he for real? You know how it goes..
I was checking out this dudes fights on you tube.. He’s a freakin powerhouse but I see some huge holes in his game.. a good ground/submission fighter could take him out easily..
Just remember what you are seeing on youtube is like 3 years old maybe older; nobody is the same fighter they were 3 years ago in MMA.
That is true but I don’t think these fights were more than a year or two at the most..
That really sucks. I think Belcher is one of the better “up and comers”. I had him picked for this fight, so I guess I will have to re evaluate my standings on Almeida.
Almedia has not fought since 2004 anywhere! This is not him just not fighting in the UFC he has not participated in MMA anywhere since his last Pride fight in 2004.
Yundt is the real dea in my estimation…dont forget this fight is on very very short notice.
