Evan Tanner Scheduled For Summer Return
Former UFC middleweight champion Evan Tanner has announced on his official website, EvanTanner.net, that he will be returning to the Octagon this summer:
“Just talked with Joe Silva, the UFC matchmaker. He gave me a date and an opponent. Looks like I’ll be back in the Octagon this summer.
It’s good to have a fight scheduled. The last two weeks have been really rough. I’ll tell the story on that in the next few days.”
Tanner returned to the UFC earlier this month following a two-year hiatus in his MMA career caused by an alcohol addiction. He was defeated in the bout by middleweight contender Yushin Okami via second-round knockout.
No opponent or date has been announced for the summer fight.

Prior to okami evan said mma is like riding a bike! Hopefully he understands now that its gonna take more than his raw talent to get by! I have all the respect in the world for Tanner i hope he doesnt turn into ken shamrock!

Now, I just felt like writing this, so… UFCDaily.com is slippin hard. MMAJunkie.com and MMAMania.com are light years ahead of ya’ll now. And, I’m not reaal sure why. Just seems lately you all are very slow on everything, and you’re not puttin up much content. Step your game up.
damn craig, guess i am going to have to go to the other sites. evan tanner isn’t even fun to watch, well i take that back he is great at getting his ass kicked and he normally bleeds alot, so it is ok to have bad fighters too.

evan tanner will not be the next shamrock!!!the guys a true vet who openly admits he aint done no mma for the past two years just pound beers garuntee hes next fight will be way different and we should see the tanner we all know
I hope he does well….he is fun to watch fight, I was there 3 years ago when he won the belt in Vegas and I have been a fan of his since.
Evan Tanner will be the next Shamrock ??? You mean Tanner is gonna get repeatedly owned by fighters younger than him. If so, yes, you are correct.
And let me say, I love UFC Daily. This is where I come to find out all the rumored fights on upcoming cards. But, it just seems there’s far less content on here than in the past, while other sites are increasing their content. Just sayin.
I think he is more Joe Riggs than Ken Shamrock…he’s going to go in and lose either way, but hell most likely be fighting new ppl in “can you cut it un the ufc” as opposed to jobbing to other has-beens over and over.
