EliteXC Makes Offer To Fedor Emelianenko
The news surrounding one Fedor Emelianenko seems to never end. Earlier today Nokaut.com reported that Emelianenko was offered a four fight, 18 month contract from EliteXC. MMA Junkie has since learned further details of the proposed deal with the Russian free agent:
“The contract calls for Emelianenko’s first two fights in the promotion to broadcast on American television network CBS as a part of the recently inked deal between ProElite and the TV giant. The final two fights would air on pay-per-view and share proceeds with Emelianenko…
According to a source close to the negotiations, the deal would call for a base pay somewhere between $300,000 and $500,000 per fight. Additionally, after the two fights (which would air on CBS or Showtime), Emelianenko’s next two fights would air on pay-per-view. As part of the deal, he would receive a portion of the PPV revenue, and the “per-buy bonus” would scale as the total number of buys increases.
EliteXC officials would also have to introduce the fighter as “M-1 Global’s Fedor Emelianenko.” Sherdog.com recently reported that Emelianenko never actually signed with the recently restructured M-1 Global organization and that the return of a $1.5 million signing bonus would essentially make him a free agent. M-1 Global executives deny the report.
…The EliteXC offer would call for Fedor’s brother, Aleksander Emelianenko, to compete on the same fight cards if terms for a fight contract can be reached. Other Russian Red Devil Fight Team members could also earn consideration for future events.â€
The question is, has Emelianenko shown any interest in accepting this, or any of the other million dollar offers thrown his way? The answer, as usual, is no - at least not yet. As far as we know, Fedor has not done anything but receive offers and let news revolve around him. Though I imagine right now, Fedor is simply looking for the offer which provides the most dollars while catering to his previously detailed requests. At this point, I would just like to see Fedor make a decision regardless of who specifically he ends up signing with, so we can at least report something tangible in the ongoing midst of rumors and contract myths.

i wish this knob head would just sign and fight someone so i can see what all the hype is about
I don’t really care for him, but I hope he does this and kicks Kimbo’s ass.
Can you imagine if he loses when he eventually does decide to sign with someone, he’ll look such an idiot, can’t see it though this guys a monster
He is good but hasn’t really fought anyone in almost 3 years. I thought he left M-1 cause they didn’t have anyone good for him to fight? But who is he going to fight in ProEli? Kimbo or Big Foot Silva? Come on Fedor sign with the UFC and lets see the Fedor v Randy and Fedor v Chuck (still think chuck has a better shoot of taking hime out) fights we all want to see!
It looks like Elite XC is the next big organization next to UFC. Couture is 100% done with UFC no matter what at this point. Couture vs Fedor, under Elite XC would be huge, especially with a big TV name like CBS involved.
I agree that Elite XC doesn’t have much to offer Fedor in regards to challengers. Fedor and Kimbo should not even be mentionned beside each other. Its making a mockery out of arguably the greatest heavyweight fighter in MMA history.
However, it won’t be long before recognized great fighters from UFC and elsewhere, want there chance at Fedor !!!!
I also heard that Couture was communicating with Golden Boy Promotions …who knows, Couture has the name to start his own successful organization without Elite XC.
At this stage in the game, as much as want to see Elite XC and all the other small organizations thrive, the place for Fedor to be is th UFC. Thats where the good heavyweight competition is. I truly hope Elite XC gets some good heavyweights, but they should push their other weight classes, where they have more recognizable, established talent. Fedor should take the UFC deal, provided that Dana White mans up and allows him to do the sambo deal. He would steam roll the UFC heavyweights. Although, it would be a nice deal at Elite XC if they could also sign Josh Barnett
I heard that EliteXC and the pitbull were already talking. If he signed there, and Fedor, I would say their HW division is not that far from the UFC caliber. Also, get Sylvia and Randy, and the UFC HW division is a joke. They could fight Vera and Nog over and over again, til they leave, too.
Dirty, what is the difference if Fedor fights Kimbo or Hong Man Choi? I guarantee Kimbo would last 5 seconds longer than that joke. Ofcourse the fight would never happen because xc wants to keep Kimbo undefeated aslong as possible. But lets say Fedor does sign, and Kimbo or Fedor is champion at 1 point, don’t you think they would want to fight eachother? All I want to see is someone kick Kimbos ass! Please God please!
JustJoe, your right about that…. It is the same deal as a Hong Man Choi fight.
I personally believe that Fedor is the best heavyweight around and it pisses me off to hear Dana White always bad mouthing the guys he doesn’t have like Fedor, Kimbo, The shamrocks, soon to be Tito …etc etc
I think that 2008 is going to be an interesting year for MMA !!
even with fedor, i don’t see elite getting a lot of momentum. WEC in my opinion is the next best thing to UFC but it’s also owned by the UFC so it’s not a threat. not to say that other’s couldn’t get up there, but it’s gonna take a lot more than 1 or 2 guys. it takes infrastructure, connections, good production…UFC is the only one out there that puts out a good total package.
i agree, WEC is the next best thing. i’ve been watching a lot recently and they’ve got some pretty good fights. i’d like to see some weight divisions in the UFC like featherweight and bantamweight. those dudes really come to fight and those fights are almost always really exciting.
man why is this taking so long!!! I just want to see Fador fight again! Anywhere! it would not matter really where he goes fighters well jump org’s to get a chance at the great one! the randy vs. fador fight will happen as soon as one of them makes a choice to be employed through a proper MMA Organization. now Fador has to chose first in this case because randy is not officially done with the UFC till 2009.
but Personally speaking i would like him to go back to Dream “Pride” because well the ring and rules seems do suit him! but as all of you know theres no HW Class in Dream yet. so really the ufc could be a good home for him not because they have the best competition for him because theres not. but they could find better fights for him in the future. but if he did go there would be no fador vs. randy in a long long time
I am sick of hearing about fedor, all the pride fighters are washed up they have all had to come of the roids to fight in the ufc and they are only half the fighters they were, fedor is running scared of randy he knows he would get his steroid free arse kicked
lee, lol man. man, you got the website wrong, sherdog forums is where you post babblings like that.
johnboy.. fedor’s fights are everywhere.
Sylva, Jackson, Nog, are all from pride not so washed up if you ask me I’m just saying maybe the guys from the ufc were washed up just saying you know.
pride fighters washed up?
are you dumb?
seriously all the pride fighters hold belts in the ufc pratically.
only reason i’m watcing tuf 7 is because of rampage and not because of forrest.
so rampage = belt
big nog = belt
so yah
Chuck got owned by pride fighters
and BTW FEdor is the best
asholes like floyd who no one cares about unless they fight guys like ricky hatton get 20 mil
